I have recently been surfing the web trying to find some books to read to gain some knowledge of the industry. I don't mean what the industry was like 50 years ago, or any "through the decades" books because, quite frankly, that's all I'm learning in class so far. I want to know what's been going on recently.
Through my research, I have put together this list of 5 books I want to read:
(1) The Vogue Factor - Kirstie Clements
(2) If You Have to Cry, Go Outside - Kelly Crutone
(3) Style A to Zoe - Rachel Zoe
(4) The Little Black Book of Style - Nina Garcia
(5) The One Hundred - Nina Garcia
Just a reminder, these are the books that I want to read based on my interests and opinion. A couple others that I want to read, but can't seem to find in the Apple Store are:
(1) Influence - Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen
(2) Fashion A to Z - Alex Newman & Zakee Shariff
(3) That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels, and Everything in Between - Victoria Beckham
Once I am done with the first five, I'll probably look for them on Amazon or something.

I will be reading The Vogue Factor first, and I have actually read the first 40 or so pages and I can tell it is going to be great. A little background info: Kirstie Clements was actually editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia. She began as a receptionist and made her way up the latter. In the book she talks about the different jobs she had and her experiences with those jobs. This book is obviously one of those "behind the scenes" books that every fashion student loves because it is like peeking through a window.
Once I am done reading the book, I will post up a review of it. If any of you wants to read it, its only about $10 in the Apple Store so feel free to follow along with me. For those of you that have read it, if you want to give me your opinion on it, or some different perspectives, that'd be great!
Love always,
Sara
